The “Neighborhood Culture and Social Activity House” project is quite exciting even with its name alone. Considering that it is an institution that belongs to the public and will serve the public, such a structure seems very useful for what it will bring.
The targeted users in the project are people who have just arrived in the city or who have not been able to establish sufficient relations with the city. This shows that the building to be designed should be a structure that can be easily perceived, warmed up quickly and can create a sense of belonging. It is also important that it is suitable for spending time and being suitable for many kinds of activities.
If we tell about our project, it is a structure that is suitable for creating a partial and closed, semi-open space consisting of three masses. Offices and information units, as well as courses and children's areas are separated so that the functions are grouped. With flexible solutions, a calm and peaceful building has been designed, which can be moved easily and is suitable for spending a long time.
A courtyard was created between the office and education blocks, and the indoor area required for the activity was placed at the end of this courtyard. While one side of the indoor activity area faces the courtyard, the other side faces the sea. When necessary, the activity area can be expanded to two sides. A second movable roof was built over the roof in order to protect the expanding activity area from external effects such as rain and sun.
